Inspiration
The 1920s was all about glitz and glamour, with vibrant colours, geometric shapes, and patterns evoking fun, exotic and stylised imagery. Think opulence and the aesthetics of The Great Gatsby Movie.

The Shelf
Think bigger is better for this shelfie! I have sourced an old grand piano that was no longer in use and added four wooden shelves cut to measure.
Books
To fill the new shelves I had to source lots of beautiful vintage books and that was so easy, I just had to look through the Country House Library of goodies. This is the perfect opportunity to add in some of your favourite authors from this era, some of mine are Agatha Christie, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Evelyn Waugh.
For this collection, I went with a mixture of sizes small-large books and stuck to earthy tones with gold gilt spines. Some fabulous genre suggestions are - Art history books, Geometric books, marble effect books and don't forget Jazz any old school music books would work really well.
Alternatively, you could replace a shelf of books with your vinyl collection and record player. Perfect!
