This vintage classic story and the inspiration for the film My Fair Lady is a written by Bernard Shaw. It tells the story of a young cockney flower girl that is transformed into a lady by the professor Henry Higgins. The protagonist Eliza Doolittle wants to improve her life and social standing and one day overhears two gentlemen challenging each other about the importance of dialect in the social standing of people. Henry Higgins wagers Colonel Pickering that he could take a girl like a flower girl near them, and transfer her into a duchess in a short time.
