Reader's note

Beautifully decorative with red boards and illustrated in a style reminiscent of ancient greek pottery, this excellent antiquarian book is a treat to behold. This title not only describes the real lives of the ancient Greeks, but the amazing mythology of the era as showcased in the very first paragraph - I am going to tell you about some Greek children who lived more than two thousand years ago in a city called Athens The city stands still and the ruins of many of its old buildings are to be seen Most of these buildings were temples in which these people used to worship their many gods There was Phoebus the sun god and Hera the goddess of power and Athené the goddess of wisdom and Demeter or mother earth. - a fascinating blend of fact and fiction and a wonderful addition to any home library.
