Reader's note

This excellent title is must-read for anybody interested in Christian theology. The object of this book is to expound the method and the results of modern New Testament Criticism. It fills a unique and unchallenged place in the structure of Christian apologetics - the more so because its appeal is to the unbiased reason. It is commonly supposed that the modern method of historical investigation has been perfected outside the field of biblical studies, and that it has then been applied to the bible. The opposite is, however, nearer to the truth. The method emerged from the heart of Christian study, and was developed by Christian theologians in problems presented by the scriptures. A fascinating title and an excellent addition to any reference library
