Reader's note

This exciting story champions courage through adversity! It was all supposed to be very simple, because Grandfather was an organising genius. He had given the family their 'marching orders' detailed instructions of what trains to catch, where to stay the night etc. weeks in advance, and his plans always worked like clockwork. But this time things went wrong. Daniel and Manou's parents couldn't get to Paris because of a train strike and one of the uncles was in a car crash. It was beastly on their own in the hotel, so Daniel decided he would get Manou to Chiberta on his own. It meant hitchhiking, and a sinister cross-eyed man followed them wherever they went. Two other boys had run away from home and the hunt was up...find out how their tale ends in this great cross country adventure!
