Reader's note

This beautiful antiquarian tome is a joy to behold in every sense of the word! Dark red boards, with 12 full colour plate illustrations and many full page line drawings and more decorative line drawings dotted throughout the text, you will be hard pressed to find a better title to discover the true meaning of Christmas. It also provides some of the history surrounding the events that took place and you may learn some. - He was laid in 'a manger because there was no room in the inn'. The word 'manger' means, in English, the trough in which food is placed for the cattle. But in this place it means the stable or shed, in a khan or caravanserai and there the young child was laid. - a fascinating read! A magnificent old book such as this deserves your fullest attention and appreciation.
