Reader's note

This pretty and patterned edition of The Lady With A Lamp by Reginald Berkeley would make a pleasing present for anyone who likes to peruse a play! This wonderful work was first published in February 1929 and this is a third impression published in April 1929. The play begins in Embley Park, Hampshire during the summer in the early nineteenth century and over the course of the play time jumps. The third scene takes place six years after on Harley Street and the fourth scene is in winter during the first year of the Crimean War. The fifth and sixth scene takes place at Old Burlington Street in 1861 and then scene seven is in 1886 and finally we end the play in 1907. The reader is engaged throughout with varied times and places in this action packed play!
