Reader's note

A 1965 edition of The Crown and the Establishment by Kinglsey Martin. Compared to what was said of the monarch in sturdier days, the crown and the establishment is a most restrained, through fascinating history and examination of the relations between crown and people in Britain, in it the former editor tot the new statesman makes reasoned criticism of the monarchy today its esoteric finances, its study press relations, and its tendency to be the captive of conservative interest, condemning an unreal, tv monarchy, he suggests that, as happens in Scandinavia, the queen should move more freely among her subjects.
