Reader's note

This lovely vintage guide book can take pride of place within your library! This is the first book in thisseries to examine a whole district of the UK rather than just a county. Though the Chilterns are not marked by big or striking features, it is an area of restful charm. It is rich in scenery of a thoroughly English type, in antiquarian, historical and architectural interest, and is easily accessible from London. At will one can have solitude in meadows and woods, in vale and by riverside. Containing photographs throughout, this book will take you on a journey through the most beautiful of English countryside.
