Reader's note

This brilliant book is a classic story that needs to be enjoyed again and again! Huck was the disreputable boy in 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Ragged, uncared for, beaten whenever his drunken father was sober enough to hold the strap. He was 14 when he got away from him and, running for his life, met old Jim, also on the run. Together on a raft they tumbled in and out of experiences which sound wildly fantastic today but were just a part of the life of the great busy Mississippi over 100 years ago. Huckleberry Finn is a classic adventure story in the truest sense of the word and a fine addition to any collection.
