Reader's note

This great vintage book contains eight of the cases of Sherlock Holmes. It has come of the most famous examples such as The Bruce Partington Plans, The Dying Detective, Wisteria Lodge and The Devil's Foot. As ever, all of these tales are written and recorded by Dr. John H Watson who even gets his own preface in this volume - The friends of Mr. Sherlock Holmes will be glad to learn that he is still alive and well, though somewhat crippled by occassional attacks of rheumatism. He has, for many years, lived in a small farm upon the Down five miles from Eastbourne, where his time is divided between philosophy and agriculture. During this period of rest he has refused the most princely offers to take up various cases, having determined that his retirement was a permanent one. - His Last Bow, is a collection of cases that were completed after retirement.
