Reader's note

This excellent vintage book is a perfect addition to any literary lover's bookshelf, adding a pop of green to the room. Raffles was a man who could hold his own in any company. It was Raffles who planned and carried out the sensational series of jewel burglaries which shook fashionable London. The exploits of this adroit and resourceful sportsman were conducted less for the sake of gain than for the thrill of adventure. The selection gathered into this volume presents one of the most attractive portraits of a 'gentleman crook' ever achieved in crime literature. A scandalous series of tales! Not one to be missed!
