Reader's note

This lovely vintage book is a perfect addition to any literary lover's bookshelf, adding some beutiful beige earth tones to the room. The short stories stories in this book are among Wodehouse’s best and most characteristic. Most of them concern love and/or money and the refreshing Wodehouse gaiety is never far away, even from pathetic scenes of artists in poverty (the man upstairs), and tongue-tied country lovers (something to worry about). Mr Wodehouse’s rich humour also touches on sailing, medicine, restaurant management, cats, pawnbrokers, golf, railway travel, to the great enjoyment of readers of his many other classic books or of those who meet him here for the first time.
