Reader's note

Lord Emsworth’s prize pig, Empress of Blandings, has won the Fat Pig competition for two successive years and cemented Lord Emsworth position at the top of the Agricultural Show. However, Sir Gregory Parsloe’s new pig, Queen of Matchingham, threatens Lord Emsworth’s position. His brother Galahad aims to steal the competeing Parsloe Pig in order to help his brother. However, in retaliation, Sir Gregory's pigman, George Cyril Wellbeloved, steals the Empress. Meanwhile at Blandings Castle Jerry Vail aims for the heart of Penny Donaldson. But Penny is engaged to Orlo Vosper, who yearns for the hand of Gloria Salt but she is engaged to Sir Gregory, who rediscovers Maudje Stubbs who has charmed Lord Emsworth, Jerry's employer.
