Reader's note

This powerful book is more than worthy of a place in your home library. This story begins with a scene of war - The sky over London was glorious, ochre and madder, as though a dozen tropic suns were simultaneously setting round the horizon; everywhere the searchlights clustered and hovered, then swept apart; here and there pitchy clouds drifted and billowed; now and then a huge flash momentarily froze the serene fireside glow. Everywhere the shells sparkled like Christmas baubles. - an almost cheerful description of something so serious. It shows the main character's mindset in an extremely unusual way. Follow the second story in the adventures of Guy Crouchback in the sword of honor trilogy with this first edition copy.
