Reader's note

This classic green Penguin book “Mr. Fortune, Please” will add some vintage controversy to your bookshelf. The author, Henry Christopher Bailey was never one to shy away from hard hitting topics that weren't covered by the other crime writers of his era. This collection of six short stories featuring detective Reggie Fortune, does not break this trend. Short story 'The Cat Burglar' deals with police corruption. A subject that sparks just as much debate in this day and age as it did back in 1927 when this anthology was first published. Just one of the many antique, rare and obscure books available on our online vintage bookstore.
