Reader's note

This wonderful title from the writer of Anne of Green Gables, will warm your heart with it's vintage charms. It is the second novel in the 'Silver Brush' series and it deserves to stand out. The titular character of Pat certainly has some strong opinions, as demonstrated by this extract - There were hundreds of trees, big and little, on the Silver Brush farm, and every tree was a personal friend of Pat's. It was anguish to her when one of them, even some gnarled old spruce in the woods at the back, was cust down. Nobody had ever been able to convince Pat that it was not murder to cut a tree down - justifiable homicide perhaps, since there had to be fires and lumber. - it is certainly an interesting idea to have a character so focused on the environment! The reader of this will be taken to the greatest of woodland and experience this from the comfort of their own reading chair.
