Reader's note

Bright green and needs to be seen! This brilliant vintage crime novel will really stand out on your bookshelf! Author Richard Keverne belongs to the Nglish countryside. His hobbies are shooting and fishing, and he has a passion for old houses. These things pervade in his novels, too, and most of them have for their setting a countryside that he knows intimately - East Suffolk with the coastline and beautiful marshes. This story is no exception, it tells of the disappearance one evening of Captain Bayne from the house of Humphrey Deacon, The plot leads gradually to the revelation of the active remnants of a war era spy network! Once you start reading this excellent title you will be hooked!
