Reader's note

Gulliver's Travels (1726) by Jonathan Swift is a biting satire disguised as a travelogue. It follows Lemuel Gulliver, a ship’s surgeon who visits four remote lands—Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and the Houyhnhnm land—encountering tiny people, giants, impractical intellectuals, and rational horses. Through these voyages, Swift mocks British politics, human nature, and scientific arrogance. This edition says it is written by a 'Dean Swift' on the title page.
