Reader's note

This colourful 1965 edition of Sense and Sensibility would be the perfect addition to a romance fan's reading list! This is the first novel published by Jane Austen and follows the characters Elinor and Marianne. Their fortunate love affairs form the plot of this brilliant novel. Elinor is in love with Edward Ferrars and eventually marries him, but not before he has entangled himself with the sly Lucy Steele, is disinherited, and then jilted by Lucy. Marianne is in love with John Willoughby, a heartless rascal. He leaves her and goes to London, whither she follows him, but she is heartbroken by his insolent conduct and eventually turns to the staid and respectable Colonel Brandon.
