Reader's note

This edition of Pride and Prejudice is in good condition and is perhaps the most popular of all the books written by Jane Austen. It tells of Mrs. Bennet and her many daughters, and how the Bennet girls searched for husbands. It is eerie wonderful to think how a person like Jane Austen, who never travelled very far from the quiet vicarage where she was born, knew so much about life. But she knew a lot. As you read you will be amazed that one so quiet could write with such power and understanding. It is a beautifully written story of a time when life was more peaceful and gentle.
