The whimsically drawn cover of this vintage book is almost as flighty as the main protagonist! Northanger Abbey is an amusing satire on the gothic novel and a delightful story in it's own right, while heroine Catherine Morland is endearing, she is a very enthusiastic reader of 'horrid' novels who find to her disappointment, that real life simple doesn't follow the same predictable patterns that you see in books. Miss Austen presents our heroine in a way that is both amusing and thoughtful. This piece of literature is a favourite amongst the readers here in this library. Once you add this to your collection, I'm sure it'll be one of your favourites too.
