Reader's note

This is a very unique edition of Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice. There is text inside that states “This volume must not be sold to the general public. It is one of the special editions produced for sales to ts members only by Readers union at Aldine House.” This classic story tells the tale of the wealthy Mr. Bingley who has moved into town recently and he his friend, the even wealthier Mr. Darcy. The opinionated and spirited Elizabeth Bennet is not impressed with the proud and haughty Mr. Darcy and the feeling is mutual, their clash of personalities leads to some of the best verbal sparring in the book. The novel is clear on the importance of marrying for love as opposed to money, but can Mr. Darcy overcome his pride and Elizabeth overcome her prejudice for that to be the case?
