Reader's note

This introduction to needlework is planned for lower and middle forms of grammar schools and for general use in secondary schools. This book is written in two sections. The first deals with basic shapes and patterns for articles and clothing with outlines for construction. Suggestions are given for individual creative work shown in detail stage by stage. It is hoped that this book will encourage pupils to do independent work, introduce them to a hobby which will give pleasure and satisfaction for yours to come, and give them the fundamental training in needlework required for home-making. This book has lovely illustrations and would be a delightful addition to any home library.
