Reader's note

This decorative pocket sized edition of In Memoriam by Alfred Lord Tennyson would look beautiful on any book shelf. In memoriam is a Latin phrase meaning “in memory of” or “as a memorial to.” It's typically used in memorials to those who have died. This poem is a requiem for Tennyson’s beloved Cambridge friend Arthur Henry Hallam, who died suddenly of a cerebral haemorrhage in Vienna in 1833. This book also has a gold lettering on the back cover which tells us that this edition was published to commemorate the Signing of Armistice on November 11th 1918 which terminated hostilities in the Great War 1914 - 1918. This stunning book features illustrated borders on each page and two full colour illustrations at the beginning. The perfect gift for a poetry lover this Christmas.
