This wonderful old book is a joy to cherished for many generations to come! The history of England volume the third contains everything you need to know about the reign of the house of Stuart from A.D. 1603 to A. D. 1714! The history of England during the 17th century presents a series of instructive and painful lessons, both to the people and the rulers of succeeding generations. Queen Elizabeth I had the good sense to discern when there was danger from going too far and repeatedly showed that she could give way in time for her concessions to be deemed favours but she did not always persevere when her authority was resisted.
