Reader's note

This lovely old book can take pride of place in any home reference library with its navy blue boards and decorative gold detailing. This fascinating title offers brilliant analysis on some of the best and well known greek writers. Including Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides to name but a few. It also offers entire chapters dedicated to the lesser known and later tragic poets. Author Rev. J. P. Mahaffy also details the origin of Greek comedy and the theatres schools that perfected this art form. With so much information to absorb, this book is the best kind of literary gift for any budding historian.
