Reader's note

This classic title is continuously entertaining and continuously astonishing from start to finish! On a bicycle called Roz, Dervla Murphy dared to do what most girls would dismiss as impossible chancy. She avoided wolves (both the canine variety and human), floods, robbery; had three ribs broken in a brawl on an Afghan bus; waded across an ice torrent hugging a cow...she suffered the extremes of heat and cold. She ate everything and liked almost everybody. This is an inspiring story full of heart and courage with the book dedicated to - To the peoples of Afghanistan and Pakistan with gratitude for their hospitality, with admiration for their principles and with affection for those who befriended me.' - A thrilling tale to read that is tremendously full of zest!
