C.S.Lewis introduces this book of thoughts that have come to him while reading the Psalms, by emphasizing its informal nature. He makes no attempt to instruct his readers, nor to go in for ‘apologetics’; rather he would describe his work as ‘comparing notes’. This was the first religious book Professor Lewis had written for ten years. Everyone who reads it will have his insight deepened and widened by the appreciation of the poetic beauty, the psychology and the spirituality displayed in one of the least understood books of the Bible.
