Reader's note

This delightful edition of Raymond Chandler is a perfect addition to any library. Marlowe’s Malloy was a big man but not more than six feet five inches tall and not wider than a beer truck. He looked about as inconspicuous as a tarantula on a slice of angel food. Malloy wanted Little Velma and there was a trial of corpses to indicate the way he’d gone. Philip Marlowe, hot on his heels, began to look like Hamlet’s father, in questionable shape. This vintage book would make a delightful addition to any library.
