Reader's note

Officially titled Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque with Other Stories, this frightful little book by Edgar Allan Poe would make a fantastically morbid addition to any library, especially to those who love a good old fashioned nineteenth century scare. This edition contains forty seven of Poe’s tales of fright and woe, including such stories as, The Black Cat, The Fall of the House of Usher, and the famous The Pit and the Pendulum; “I was sick, sick unto death, with that long agony, and when they at length unbound me, and I was permitted to sit, I felt that my senses were leaving me…”
