Reader's note

This excellent biography is a brilliant read. Explore the early life of one of the most controversial authors of the 20th century, As stated in the first chapter - To some he was a writer of obscene books and a painter of obscene pictures. To others he was a genius and one of the most significant artists of his generation. In some respects he was to them the most significant. His work was an outrage upon the conventional moral standards which in his eyes were as dangerous as they were useless. - a fascinating character in every sense of the word. With earth-tone brown boards and gold lettering, this lovely old book is a great addition to any reference library.
