Reader's note

With ruby red boards, gold detailing on the spine and cover and a gold textblock to match, this truly beautiful book is an antique jewel! Fully illustrated throughout, this title contains all of Edgar Allan Poe's poetry from 'The Raven' to additional poems such as 'The Doomed City' and poems that he wrote in his youth such as 'Fairy land'. The following words are taken from the first two stanzas of the classic, 'Annabel Lee' - It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know, By the name of Annabel Lee; And this maiden she lived with no other thought, Than to love and be loved by me. I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea, But we loved with a love that was more than love—I and my Annabel Lee— With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven, Coveted her and me. - these are words that linger in the mind long after they have been read. This antiquarian book deserves your attention more than any other in this library.
