Reader's note

Don Quixote is a classic in every sense of the word. Unfortunately it is over 1000 pages long and it is a little difficult to digest by all accounts as a result! This edition has been especially abridged for younger readers, but there's nothing stopping the older readers from also taking a look so that they can see for themselves what all of the fuss is truly about without the same time commitment! This wonderful edition has colour plates and smaller line drawings dotted throughout the text. Hopefully the illustrations will keep the reader grounded and ensure that they won't lose touch with their surroundings as the book explains - This same Don Quixada, being unmarried and without occupation, passed most of his time in reading books of knight-errantry until his brain became so filled with stories of adventure that he determined at last to imitate the knights of old - not the best way for one to act! Add this classic to your children's library...and then read it for yourself once they have gone to bed!
