Reader's note

A wonderful 1954 edition of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. In du Maurier’s ever-popular novel, we follow the heroine as she falls deeply in love with the handsome widower, Maxim de Winter, in Monte Carlo. She accepts his sudden proposal and goes to his large Cornish estate, Manderley. Soon after, however, she realises that de Winter’s late wife, Rebecca, continues to cast a large influence over the household and its servants, and threatens her marriage and newfound happiness. ‘Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again' This is a First Edition, thirty-seventh impression with its original dust-jacket in great condition. Beneath are red boards with gold-gilt lettering. A gem among a bounty of stunning vintage books and classic novels on our online used bookstore.
