Reader's note

This 1952 edition of Daphne Du Maurier's classic thriller will add a real sense of class to your vintage bookshelf. The mystery begins with a curious anecdote on the very first page - They used to hang men at Four Turnings in the old days. Not any more, though. Now, when a murderer pays the penalty for his crime, he does so up at Bodmin, after a fair trial at the Assizes. That is, if the law convicts him before his own conscience kills him. - what foreboding does this passage have for the rest of the novel, and how does this relate to the titular cousin? Add this wonderful old book to your home library or purchase it for a friend as the best kind of literary gift.
