Reader's note

Cooking the Chinese Way in an excellent vintage guidebook that may help any reader to be more experimental in their kitchen! With it's superb blending of delicate flavours, Chinese cooking has a personality all its own, and it deserves to be widely appreciated by all who sample it. 12th century poet Su Tung Po made many witty and poetical recipes, this example is one of the most famous - Lack of bamboo makes one vulgar, Lack of Pork makes one thin, To avoid being vulgar and skinny, Treat yourself to pork with bamboo shoots - this poem like the recipes found in this book are a real delight!
