Reader's note

This wonderful book is a true vintage beauty and is a wonderful addition to any cottage core library! Graham Stuart Thomas is one of the great rose authorities in the world and he has used this book to pass on some of the joys he has experienced by 'growing all sorts of roses' and in this case he has produced the only book (as of 1965) published in Britain devoted to climbers and ramblers, the most popular of decorations in gardens of every size. Though a home dictionary will make no distinction between a climber and a rambler, Mr Thomas shows that there are differences and goes on to explain them in a clear and concise manner. Fully illustrated throughout by the author himself, this beautiful old book deserves to be cherished and appreciated for many years to come.
