Reader's note

This charming book is filled with facts and stories about the different animals especially written for the younger reader. The very first chapter is about Lions - The Lion is the king of beasts and in its wild state one of the most terrible animals in the world. The roar of the lion will make all the other inhabitants of the forest tremble, and when they hear it they run about in such a fright that some of them are sure to run close to the great lion, which immediately springs upon them and eats them up. - a frightening thought but surely this is a passage to stir the imagination! With beautiful gold lettering on the front of the book and illustrations throughout, this wonderfully decorative title will look wonderful in any nature reference library.
