Reader's note

This book is a classic colour that will look wonderful in any vintage themed kitchen! The author states in his preface how the economy has affected the diet of the people - the present book, though written upon strictly vegetarian lifestyle principles, is by no means addressed to vegetarians only. On the contrary, we hope that the following pages of recipes will be read by that enormous class throughout the country who, during the last few years have been gradually changing their mode of living by eating far less meat. There are thousands who are vegetarians by choice, there are tens of thousands who are virtually vegetarian out of necessity - it is sad how things haven't changed too much. However, with a book like this you can revitalise some of your old recipes and learn some new ones all while on a conscious budget. No shelf is really complete without a beautiful and practical old cookery book like this one.
