Reader's note

This book is beautiful in every sense of the word. It is a tome with powerful information contained within and boards that are bright green with gold gilt detailing. It is almost impossible not to appreciate it at first sight. The introduction contains a passage written by Dugald Stewart - The cultivation of a fine taste for the beautiful works of nature not only enables us to enjoy more fully those primary pleasures which are afforded by an appropriate object but superadds to these a secondary pleasure, peculiar only to itself. The secondary pleasures excite a predilection for intellectual pursuits and quicken the general admiration of the wonders of creation. - fine words that inspire the joy of learning and education, a great addition to any home reference library.
