L.M. Montgomery's writings are always a classy and welcome addition to any bookshelf. This sequel to The Chronicles of Avonlea was withdrawn shortly after publication in 1925 owing to legal complications. These difficulties have only now been overcome which makes the new edition available to the present generation. As Nathan Haskell Dole writes in his introduction; ‘’There is something in these continued chronicles of Avonlea. Like the delicate art which has made ‘Cranford’ a classic.. A book to read; and to know’. A gem among a bounty of out of print, rare and stunning vintage books in our second hand bookstore.
