Reader's note

Add a dash of pink to your bookshelf with this 1972 edition of Aspects of Alice: Lewis Carroll's Dreamchild As Seen Through The Critics' Looking-Glasses 1965-1971. In 1865, Alice in Wonderland was considered a "stiff, overwrought story" and Tenniel's illustrations - so integral a part of it - as "grim and uncouth". Since then the books have been thought to represent everythigtn from a treatise on the Oxford movement to one ofntoilet-training. And Alice herself stands for everyone from the first real acidhead to the Virgin Mary!
