Reader's note

This is a wonderful copy of Agatha Christie’s Hickory Dickory Dock. Hercule Poirot is bewildered when his efficient and orderly secretary, Miss Lemon, makes some mistakes when copying out a letter, which never happens. This leads to explaining her worries of her sister, who runs a student’s hostel in Hickory Road. There has been a recent series of thefts there, not normally something that would interest Poirot, however the wide selection of incongruous stolen items intrigues him, as does the unease of everyone at the hostel. Along with Inspector Sharp, Poirot takes on this “unique and beautiful problem”, by peeling back the layers of irrelevance on by one. A highly enjoyable piece of detective fiction.
