Reader's note

With wonderful pink detaling on the cover, this delightful biography will warm your heart with its vintage charms. Author Elfrida Vipont describes here what life might have been like in the Austen household, and with sympathy and imagination recreates for us not only the vivacious high-spirited girl who enjoyed writing parodies of the romantic novels of the day, but also the 'Aunt Jane' of later years who with delicacy and good humour advised her nephews and nieces on their love affairs and writing problems. A fascinating read if you love Jane Austen as much as we do here at Country House Library.
