Reader's note

This A Certain Smile Vintage book is a perfect addition to any literary lover's bookshelf, adding a pop of orange to the room. A Certain Smile portrays with great feeling the dilemma in which a young girl finds herself when she falls out of love with her student friend and into an entanglement with his uncle, a middle-age man who deliberately sets out to attract her, even though he is happily married to a woman of great charms. The situation is as difficult as it is complicated, for her new friend's wife behaves as a mother to her. There is nothing clandestine about the affair to destroy its honesty. The girl passes through every phase of emotion and the intensity of her feelings is communicated with delicacy and perception while the scene and atmosphere conveyed economy and exactitude. This vintage book would make a delightful addition to any library.
