Reader's note

This is a beautiful blue, floral, decorative edition of Daniel Defoe's timeless novel. The classic story of Robinson Crusoe and his many adventures have been re-told over the generations, and across the world for young people to love and enjoy. These stories are based on a real adventurer Alexander Selkirk, a seafarer from Fife in Scotland, born in 1676 and lived in solitude on an island for approximately four years before returning to his homeland.

Thus fear of danger is ten thousand times more terrifying than danger itself.”

This rare edition from the 1890s is illustrated throughout by T. Eyre Macklin and will stand-out on any bookshelf with its gorgeous gold-gilt cover decoration and page block. Just one of the many antique, rare and classic books available on our online vintage bookstore.
