Reader's note

William the Pirate is the fourteenth book in the Just William series by Richmal Crompton. It was first published in 1932. It contains eleven short-stories, one of which features the odious "Anthony Martin" who is often cited as a parody of A.A. Milne's Christopher Robin. William's great enemy is boredom and he will do anything to avoid it. He'll rescue babies from great danger or have swashbuckling piratical adventures. But he has always resisted gardening. Until now, that is. William is up to something and the flowerbeds will never be the same again. This vintage book is one among a bounty of stunning classic literature vintage books and obscure gems on our second hand bookstore!
