Reader's note

Frances Pitt wrote this wonderful edition of Wild Animals of Britain with the aim of providing, in a readable and concise form, a description of each species, its character and life, based so far as possible on personal observation. The book is filled with a combination of wonderful black and white photographs which get up close and personal with the animals, as well as stunning film colour paintings. I particularly loved the first painting of a Roe Deer which was painted by J. G. Millais, reproduced from his great work, The Mammals of Great Britain and Ireland. A wonderful book for any animal lover.
