Reader's note

This is a wonderful copy of Virginia Woolf’s The Waves. Her most celebrated work, The Waves ebbs and flows between poetry and narrative. The story follows the lives of seven characters, told through the thoughts and feelings of six of them. From childhood to death, as they grow and experience life, love and grief we witness the changes in their inner lives. The writing is rhythmic and flowing, and Woolf’s insights into the nature of life and experience are beautiful. This is a lovely classic story that would make a wonderful addition to any home collection. “The sun had not yet risen. The sea was indistinguishable from the sky, except that the sea was slightly creased as if a cloth had wrinkles in it.”
